(De)Fence was an art installation commissioned by the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center for ʻAe Kai: A Culture Lab on Convergence, which took place in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, from July 7-9, at the site of the old Ala Moana Foodland. This installation explores the histories of militarization and demilitarization movements in Guahan (Guam) and Hawaiʻi, and was created in collaboration with Brandy Nālani McDougall and Jessi Devera.
